1. Maintain Ventilation

 

Whether it's the modules, inverter, or distribution box, maintain ventilation to ensure air circulation. For rooftop PV power plants, it's crucial not to arrange the modules in an inappropriate manner to maximize power generation. This can cause inter-module blocking, hindering heat dissipation and ventilation, and resulting in low power generation. Therefore, be cautious if someone tries to trick you into installing multiple modules on a limited area. Reliable brands will provide the most appropriate design based on your roof's conditions before installation, maximizing power generation rather than encouraging you to install more modules. For owners of photovoltaic agricultural greenhouses, consider ventilation. Ventilation holes can be installed in the back of the greenhouse in areas with poor sunlight. This will ensure the optimal operating temperature of the PV power plant without affecting crop growth.

 

2. Clear debris around the PV power plant promptly.

 

To avoid interfering with the heat dissipation of the PV power plant, ensure that the areas around the PV modules, inverter, and distribution box are clear and free of debris. Clear any accumulation of debris promptly.

 

3. Build a sunshade for the inverter and distribution box

 

Residential inverters generally have an IP65 rating, providing adequate protection against wind, dust, and water. However, the inverter and distribution box need to dissipate heat while operating, so it's best to install them in a location that's shaded and sheltered from rain. If you absolutely must install them outdoors, build a simple sunshade for them to protect them from direct sunlight. This prevents them from overheating and affecting power generation.

 

4. What to do in inclement weather?

 

Lightning strikes

 

The most effective and widely used method for lightning protection is to ground the metal components of electrical equipment. Use electric or gas welding; do not solder. If welding isn't possible on-site, riveting or bolting can be used. Ensure a contact surface of at least 10 cm², and bury the grounding conductor at a depth of 0.5-0.8 m. Remember to compact the backfill.

 

Heavy Rain

 

If you have a pitched roof, there's no need to worry. If you have a flat roof, it's best to consider drainage during the design and installation of your PV power station. Avoid heavy rainfall, as the PV panels are mounted relatively low on flat roofs, causing them to become soaked by rainwater. When conducting inspections after a rainstorm, be sure not to touch the inverter, PV panels, or the connections between the power cables. Wear rubber gloves and boots.

 

Hail

 

Qualified PV power station products purchased from reputable manufacturers have PV panels tested to withstand hail at a speed of 23m/s. Therefore, hail generally won't affect them. However, regular inspections are essential after a hailstorm. If the PV power station experiences a significant drop in power generation or other abnormalities after a hailstorm, the owner must promptly notify the manufacturer's after-sales staff for inspection.

 

Regular Inspections Are Essential

 

After a photovoltaic power station is built, its operation and maintenance must be rigorous. Especially in the summer, regular inspections are recommended to ensure proper heat dissipation and air circulation. Weeds and obstructions that could hinder heat dissipation should be removed promptly. This is the only way to ensure the power generation and operation of the photovoltaic power station.
